Dr. Rachel Levine, professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine and associate dean for faculty educational development, and Dr. Lydia Pecker, assistant professor in the Division of Hematology, received 2024 Scholarly Concentrations Excellence in Mentoring Awards as part of the 16th Annual Medical Student Research Symposium. This award honors faculty mentors who “clearly went above and beyond in their commitment to mentoring student research in the Scholarly Concentrations program.” They were recognized at the symposium on February 2.

Drs. Levine and Pecker were nominated by their students:

  • Dr. Levine has gone above and beyond to demonstrate her commitment and investment in me and my project through her prompt communication, sponsorship, and willingness to dedicate the time to teach me new skills.”
  • Dr. Pecker has high expectations for her students, but these expectations are not without the unwavering support and guidance needed to achieve them.”
