Gosling went on to credit Mendes, 50, who he first began dating in 2011 when filming the movie The Place Beyond the Pines, and their daughters Esmeralda, nine, and Amada, seven, for helping him pull off the live visual spectacular by offering him notes.
“It was great,” he told People magazine.
